Be There for Your Community’s Future
A legacy fund is a permanent source of financial support for the causes that you value most. By creating a legacy fund with single gift in your will, trust, retirement plan, or life insurance policy, you can leave a lasting legacy.
During your lifetime, you designate the causes or nonprofit organizations that are most important to you as charitable beneficiaries of your legacy fund. You can change them as many times as you’d like without additional legal fees. Later, these beneficiaries will receive annual funding — in perpetuity. Your values will live on and benefit future generations.
Your legacy fund becomes a powerful statement to your family and community about your values and your hopes for the future.
- Plan a single after-lifetime gift, and change beneficiaries as many times as you’d like.
- Create permanent support for the charitable organizations and causes that you value most with no money given today.
- Be an example for family, friends, and community.
- Administrative fees support our work in the community.
You can establish a legacy fund with a gift in your will or trust, or with a beneficiary designation in your retirement plan or life insurance. Contributions may reduce the estate and/or income taxes your heirs incur.
You can set up a fund to benefit charitable organizations or broad fields of interest, such as Jewish education or environmental preservation. Foundation invests legacy funds in our diversified investment pool — to increase annual distributions from the fund over time.
We manage all accounting, investment monitoring, grant disbursements, and reporting. Ongoing oversight ensures that the fund is used as you intend, well into the future.
As a legacy donor, you will become a member of the East Bay Jewish Legacy Society, and you will be honored for planning a gift to secure the future of our community. Legacy Society members are invited to special events and to add a page to the East Bay Book of Life.
