As part of our mission to sustain and enrich the East Bay Jewish community, The Jewish Community Foundation helps East Bay agencies and synagogues establish and manage long-term funds for their programs and operations.
Invested Funds
More than 20 agencies, synagogues, and day schools have established funds at Foundation as new sources of sustainable annual funding.
Organizations can establish:
- Board-advised funds, which are also invested but allow more access to funds, and are ideal for shorter-term capital projects or more flexibility to get revenue from the fund.
- Permanent endowment funds, which are invested for long-term growth, and provide yearly revenue to organizations in perpetuity.
Unlike investment banks, Foundation’s competitive administrative fees directly support our work in the Jewish community.
Operations and Oversight
Foundation does all investing, accounting, reporting, and distributions, so your organization can focus on its mission instead of portfolio management and fund operations.
In addition, third-party oversight makes sure we uphold your donors’ and board’s intentions over the long term.
Endowment Development
Establishing an endowment can be difficult for an organization. But through one-on-one consultations and community programs, like Create a Jewish Legacy, Foundation provides your organization with valuable guidance in fundraising and endowment development.
