WHO WE SUPPORT

College Scholarships

WHO FUNDS THIS PROGRAM?

Scholarships for college tuition are made possible by the Max and Erica Weingarten Education Philanthropic Fund at The Jewish Community Foundation of the East Bay. A volunteer committee makes the award decisions and the process is anonymous.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must be enrolled full-time or have applied to an accredited California university; in good academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA), and have justified financial need. The Weingarten Scholarship Committee will give preference to applicants who are Jewish, have a permanent residence in the Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Napa, Solano, San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Santa Clara, and San Mateo Counties ), and to those students attending public universities in the Bay Area.

AWARDS:

5 -7 scholarships will be awarded each year in June. Scholarships are need-based and will like not exceed $5,000 in award value.

Judy Wendland-Young College Scholarship

WHO FUNDS THIS PROGRAM?

Scholarships for college tuition are made possible by the Judy Wendland-Young Scholarship Fund at The Jewish Community Foundation of the East Bay. A volunteer committee makes the award decisions and the process is anonymous.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must be women over the age of thirty-five years old and has not previously attended college at an accredited University offering Bachelors degrees. Awards may only be granted towards the first year enrolled at such university. Applicants must be attending an accredited university offering Bachelors degrees located in the United States.

AWARDS:

1-2 scholarships will be awarded each year in June. Scholarships are need-based and shall not exceed the sum of $20,000.

May 7 by 5:00 p.m.
