East Bay Jewish Community Teen Foundation:
Join our Board
If you're in 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade and want to gain valuable leadership skills and experience, bond with socially conscious Jewish peers, and make a difference through realization of Jewish values, we invite you to apply to become one of 23 members on this grant making board.
As a Board member, you will:
- Boost your leadership skills
- Connect with Jewish youth
- Expand your Jewish identity
- Debate tough choices
- Engage in social justice issues
- Attend a fun, inspirational and well-planned weekend retreat
- Participate in youth-led Foundation Board Meetings and skill-building workshops
- Become an effective grantmaker and strategic young philanthropist
Eligibility requirements
- You must be a 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grader who identifies yourself as Jewish.
- You must have performed community service.
- You must be willing to contribute at least $100.00 to the pooled fund from your own personal resources, or from funds you will raise.
- You must have checked with your family and have made yourself available to attend several Teen Foundation Board events (dates to be determined; contact us for more information).
- You understand that attendance is required at all sessions, barring unforeseen illness or emergency, in which case, you agree to contact the Program Director in advance of the meeting.
- You must be a resident of Alameda or Contra Costa counties.
- You must be able to attend the Teen Foundation Board events listed below.
