TRIPS TO ISRAEL: High School and College Programs
Deadline to apply: The Foundation accepts applications on a rolling basis and requests are reviewed each quarter. Deadlines for quarterly review for 2009-2010:

Eligibility:
High school and college students residing in the East Bay (Alameda, Contra Costa, Napa and Solano counties) may apply to attend a Jewish program of travel, study or volunteering in Israel. Students attend high-school programs such as the East Bay Federation’s Let’s Go! teen trip, Camp Ramah, Nesiya and others.

Financial aid is made available through the generosity of the following endowed funds to support youth travel to Israel: The Goodman Family Israel High School and College Scholarship Fund, the Herb and Marianne Friedman Israel Scholarship Fund, the Eisner Youth to Israel Fund, the Amalie and Henry Schudmak Fund, the Derek Elias Israel Memorial Scholarship Fund for Young Adult Study in Israel, the Morton and Amy Friedkin Israel Scholarship Fund, and the Israel Trip Scholarship Fund.

West Bay Families Teen Israel Experience Trip Scholarships

High school students residing in the SF Jewish Community Federation geographic service area including San Francisco, the Peninsula (Sunnyvale and north), Marin and Sonoma counties may be eligible to apply for a First Time Teen Israel Experience Trip scholarship. JEWISH SUMMER DAY AND OVERNIGHT CAMP

DEADLINE TO APPLY: MARCH 15, 2010
Financial Aid is available from The Jewish Federation of the East Bay and The Jewish Community Foundation's Hurwitz Summer Camperships Fund.

Eligibility: Families must reside in the East Bay (Alameda, Contra Costa, Napa and Solano counties) in order to apply for financial aid. Children must already be registered at an eligible overnight or East Bay day camp prior to applying for financial aid.

Day Camp: Download financial aid application here. *Please note: The Jewish Community Foundation provides financial aid for the following camps in the East Bay: Camp Gan Israel Berkeley, Camp Gan Israel Contra Costa, Camp Kee Tov, Camp Tzofim, Contra Costa JCC Camp, and Camp Kadima. Please contact the individual camps for more information and to register.

Overnight Camp: Download financial aid application here. *Please note: First-time campers entering 6th - 8th grade in Fall 2010 may be eligible for an $1800 incentive award from the Foundation of Jewish Camping's JWest program. Please visit http://www.onehappycamper.org/ to determine eligibility.

COLLEGE EDUCATION

DEADLINE TO APPLY: MARCH 29, 2010
The Weingarten Philanthropic Fund of The Jewish Community Foundation provides need-based financial aid for young adults to attend an accredited four-year university.

Eligibility: Preference will be given to Jewish applicants who are Bay Area residents, are unable to afford college tuition, and have demonstrated academic achievement. Awards will be announced in June. Please review the application form for more details.

JEWISH ARTS, SCHOLARSHIP AND EDUCATION
The Fromer Fund provides an annual incentive award of approximately $1,000 for projects in Jewish arts, scholarship or education. Past awards have supported the production of films, curricula, journals, and exhibits.
