The Jewish Community Foundation's Summer Intern
The Foundation is very pleased to have Teen Foundation alum, Nicole Simon, as a summer intern. Nicole will be a senior next year at Head Royce and has participated in the Teen Foundation for the past two years.
Nicole’s first year, she was on the Teen Foundation board and this past year served on the Leadership Council. She “loved the program” and felt the best part was the development of her leadership skills. She especially valued seeing the impact she and her teen counterparts could have and helping the first year teens make smart decisions in their grant making process. Nicole is anticipating a great summer experience and hes begun to gain a different, behind the scenes, perspective by working for The Foundation.
This year's East Bay Jewish Community Teen Foundation board, sponsored by The Jewish Community Foundation, raised and gave out grants for over $36,000 to organizations working to save the lives of youth in Sub-Saharan Africa by providing clean water and fighting malaria. The Teen Foundation program, which is one of the four Bay Area Teen foundations, was a recipient of the San Francisco Federation’s Program of the Year.
