Shaping Today and Tomorrow: the Annual Campaign of the Jewish Federation of the East Bay
Through your generosity to the Annual Campaign of the Jewish Federation of the East Bay, we are helping to shape the future of the East Bay Jewish community and to ensure the continuity of Jewish life here, in Israel and around the world.
The Annual Campaign is a vital, cooperative grassroots effort dedicated to strengthening and supporting our Jewish community from the ground up. We work closely with donors, grantees and the community at large to direct your dollars to areas of critical need where your gift, made even stronger when combined with those of others, will have the greatest impact. This shared effort ensures that the programs and institutions that enrich Jewish life stay vibrant and strong.
Giving to the Annual Campaign puts our values into action, sustains our commitment to klal Israel arevim zeh lazeh (collective responsibility) and reflects our community’s desire and ability to live generously.
Why give?
- Because caring for those in need is central to our Jewish values
- To ensure that those in need of medical or social services can receive them, regardless of their social or economic situations
- To make sure that seniors receive the services they need – be they a hot meal, transportation or simple company
- By working with area rabbis to provide economic assistance to unemployed or financially challenged congregants
- Because everyone who wants to should be able to strengthen his/her Jewish identity
- By ensuring that children can attend Jewish day or synagogue schools even in difficult financial times
- By helping teens connect to Israel through travel and learning
- By supporting programs for adult learning that help them reconnect to and strengthen their Jewish roots
- Because supporting Jewish culture helps build a stronger Jewish community
- Through partnerships with our local synagogues to support their roles as spiritual centers for EB residents
- Through cultural events that bring Jews and non-Jews together to learn and discuss
- By supporting leadership development programming for the next generation of Jewish professionals
- Because there are Jews around the world who still need our help
- To help Ethiopian Jews integrate into Israeli society
- To make sure that elderly residents of the FSU don’t go hungry
- To support medical research in Israel focused on illnesses that affect people around the world
