Women’s Philanthropy
Women’s Philanthropy (WP) is committed to strengthening and perpetuating Jewish life in the East Bay and around the world by encouraging all women to play a more active role in the community. WP aims to create a strong, viable, caring Jewish community by training, motivating and empowering women to become community leaders while raising funds for the Federation’s Annual Campaign. Together, the women of WP are a powerful voice.
Women’s Philanthropy:
- Serves as an educational resource for women by providing a range of Jewish learning and activities, offering seminars, lectures and other educational opportunities for understanding key issues affecting the community.
- Assists in developing leadership skills and providing opportunities for involvement that enable women to act as role models and mentors for the next generation of leaders.
- Hosts outreach and social action projects that sensitize, educate and activate the community on issues affecting Jewish women and our community.
- Provides every Jewish woman the opportunity to make a financial contribution in her own name and to give of her time as a volunteer. Lion of Judah, an international recognition society for women whose yearly gift to the Annual Campaign is $5,000 or more, links thousands of women worldwide with the shared desire to build strong Jewish communities around the world.
